30 october 2024 - Profils Systemes News
Profils Systèmes, a French manufacturer and extruder of eco-responsible aluminium profiles, is proud to announce the successful renewal of its ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 certifications, following a rigorous audit conducted during summer 2024 at its Baillargues industrial site in Hérault.
This audit, carried out from 8 to 12 July, highlighted the effectiveness of the company’s initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, optimise environmental management, and ensure employee safety, while committing to reducing its carbon footprint and energy consumption.
Over the past four years, Profils Systèmes has invested nearly €25 million in modernising its industrial equipment and optimising its production processes.
€8 million was dedicated to expanding the facilities, including a new 5,000 m² building and a second vertical coating line (operational since March 2020), creating 40 new jobs.
A second €17 million investment, supported by France Relance and the Occitanie Region, enabled the construction of an additional 5,000 m² building and the installation of a second 2,500-tonne aluminium extrusion press (in service since January 2024), strengthening extrusion capacity and enhancing customer satisfaction for joiners, installers, architects, and specifiers.
Reducing environmental impacts, particularly CO2 emissions and waste, is a central objective for Profils Systèmes.
The company participates in the Alu+C- initiative, developed in collaboration with the GFA and SNFA, which aims to optimise the carbon footprint of aluminium profiles through improvements in sourcing and the extrusion process.
Results are significant: supply chain traceability demonstrates a carbon content below the market average, while advanced drawing technologies and recycling of waste into reusable aluminium billets actively contribute to reducing the company’s footprint.
Continuing this approach, Profils Systèmes develops increasingly innovative and environmentally responsible products. Recent launches include the Wallis&Energy® bioclimatic smart veranda (nominated for the BATIMAT Innovation Awards), the Wallis&Park® photovoltaic carport, and the Tanagra® sunshade, all designed to reduce energy consumption and support the decarbonisation of buildings.
Profils Systèmes exclusively uses green electricity from renewables sources. Its 18,000m2 photovoltaic installation produces 4,840 MWh of clean energy per year, covering 50% of total consumption.
In the coating process, water consumption has been reduced by 25% per m2 treated, representing a saving of 6,411 m3 in 2023 compared with 2020, equivalent to the annual consumption of 53 households.
Continuous investment in advanced equipment, such as a new ageing oven and extrusion die ovens, has also significantly reduced gas and electricity consumption.
In terms of transport, the use of rail freight reduced CO2 emissions by 221.43 tonnes in 2023, while 95% of the vehicle fleet is now hybrid, with a target of 100% by mid-2025. All forklifts are already electric.
Finally, 95% of produced waste is recovered or recycled, with selective sorting practices implemented on-site.
These achievements, combined with the initiatives of the Corialis Group, of which Profils Systèmes is part, have earned the company the EcoVadis Gold Medal for the third consecutive year.
This distinction places the Corialis Group among the top 5% of companies rated by EcoVadis, reflecting a strong commitment to ethics, social responsibility, and responsible purchasing practices.
