Committed for many years to an eco-responsible approach, Profils Systèmes is further reducing its carbon footprint through an ambitious industrial investment program and a structured environmental policy.
As an aluminium systems manufacturer and extruder based in Baillargues (Hérault), the company has invested over €25 million in five years to modernize its production facilities, promoting eco-design, energy efficiency, and the responsible use of resources.
Certified ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001, and engaged in the Alu+C- initiative, Profils Systèmes continues to advance decisively on the path toward decarbonization.
Over the past year, the company has undertaken a major overhaul of its waste sorting and recovery strategy, led by Vincent Chabert, Health, Safety, Environment & Energy Technician (HSEÉ).
The goal is to optimize the management of cardboard and plastic waste and reduce the carbon impact associated with their treatment.
After a study comparing a baling press and a compactor, the compactor solution was selected for its ease of use and logistical efficiency.
A first compactor was installed in October 2024 in the logistics building. Tested for four months, it delivered convincing results, notably reducing collection frequency from daily pick-ups to just one every two months.
Following this success, two additional compactors were installed on September 3, 2025, in the industrial building.
This new organisation is already delivering concrete benefits:
According to Vincent Chabert, HSEÉ Technician:
“The use of compactors optimises waste sorting, particularly for cardboard and plastic. Our goal is to increase the proportion of recyclable waste from 30% to 50% of the total stream.”
He adds: “This approach modernises waste management, reduces the carbon footprint linked to waste treatment, and generates savings while strengthening the company’s environmental commitment.”
